Overview
IS220PPROH1A is a backup turbine protection I/O pack for GE Speedtronic Mark VIe turbine control platform, also named PPRO module. It delivers independent secondary safety protection separate from the main turbine controller, supporting simplex and triple modular redundant (TMR) architecture for gas & steam turbine units. The suffix H1 stands for conformal coated PCB for dusty/humid cabinet environments, revision A represents standard factory hardware version.

- High-speed on-board processor for real-time trip signal calculation and fault judgment

- Independent backup overspeed protection
Monitors turbine speed signals and triggers emergency shutdown independently if the main control fails, avoiding rotor over-speed damage.
- Emergency stop (E-Stop) loop supervision
Continuously detects wire breaks and circuit abnormalities on hardwired safety trip loops, instant trip response once fault is detected.
- Generator synchronization backup verification
Cross-checks voltage, frequency and phase difference during grid paralleling to prevent unsafe synchronization faults.
- Independent watchdog for main controller
Constantly communicates with primary turbine CPU; cuts off fuel supply if main control loses communication.
- Trip signal acquisition & fault logging
Collects all protection trip feedback signals, records time-stamped fault events and transmits data to HMI/SCADA via Ethernet.
- TMR redundant compatible
Three IS220PPROH1A modules can form a 2-out-of-3 voting TMR protection system to eliminate single-point failure risks.
