GE UR 8FH CT/VT Module
The GE UR 8FH is a CT/VT (Current Transformer/Voltage Transformer) module developed by GE Multilin for its Universal Relay series, mainly utilized to monitor and control current and voltage, scaling them to levels that the relay can handle . Its key details are as follows:
- Current and Voltage Measurement Configuration:
- Phase Current Transformers: It is furnished with 3 phase CTs, and it's possible to configure their secondary current to be either 1 A or 5 A as needed.
- Ground Current Transformer: There is 1 ground CT, whose secondary current can also be configured to be 1 A or 5 A, used to detect ground current conditions.
- Voltage Transformer Terminals: The module is equipped with 4 voltage transformer terminals to accept and scale input voltage signals.
- Input Channel Options: The module can use voltage or contact inputs on either channels 1-4 or channels 5-8. The connection should follow specific rules. For instance, channels 1 and 5 are used to connect to phase A, channels 2 and 6 for phase B, etc.
- Functional Capabilities: It scales down high-level current and voltage signals from the primary electrical system to appropriate levels that can be measured and processed by the universal relay, generating key data essential for the relay's protection and control operations.
- Compatibility: It's able to support up to 24 analog inputs, working in coordination with other I/O modules in the universal relay system. Besides CT/VT modules, the system is usually equipped with transducer I/O modules and digital I/O modules.
- Absence of Sensitive Ground Fault Protection: The UR 8FH is a standard 4CT/4VT model, lacking the sensitive ground feature. Models such as the UR-8G, UR-8J, UR-8M, and UR-8R, etc., are the ones having this function.
- Operating Environment: The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C; the storage temperature range is -55°C to 105°C. The humidity should be within 0% to 100% under non-condensing conditions. It can endure a vibration condition of 5-15 Hz with 0.006" amplitude, 15-50 Hz with 0.5 g, 50-100 Hz with 1 g, and shock of 15 g for 11 ms half-sine.
- Physical Dimensions: Approximately 15 cm in length, 18 cm in width, and 4 cm in height.
- Weight: Around 1160 g, which is equivalent to 2 pounds and 9 ounces.
