Product Description

Allen-Bradley 1756-PSCA2 is a dedicated redundant power supply chassis adapter for Rockwell Automation's ControlLogix system, designed to implement 1+1 redundant configuration of power modules. Installed in specific slots of ControlLogix standard chassis (such as 1756-A10, 1756-A13), this adapter can accommodate two 1756 series power modules (e.g., 1756-PA72, 1756-PB72) simultaneously. It realizes seamless switching in case of power failure through internal switching logic, ensuring continuous operation of the ControlLogix system when the main power supply fails. It is suitable for critical industrial control scenarios with high requirements for power supply reliability, such as chemical process control and power system automation.

Notes

  • Before installation, confirm chassis slot compatibility; 1756-PSCA2 must be installed in dedicated slots (usually slots 1 and 2) of the chassis that support redundant power supplies, and must not occupy controller or I/O module slots.
  • Input power supplies of the two power modules must come from different circuits (such as different UPS or different distribution cabinets) to avoid common-cause failures (such as mains interruption affecting both power supplies simultaneously).
  • The mechanical locking between power modules and adapters must be firm; after installation, check whether the copper bar connections are tight to prevent local overheating due to poor contact.
  • Before system power-on, confirm the redundancy status through RSLogix 5000 software to ensure that the "Redundant Power" status is "Normal" and the switching logic is normal.
  • Regularly (quarterly recommended) check indicator status and power output voltage, clean dust on the adapter surface to maintain heat dissipation, avoiding the impact of high-temperature environments on switching performance.
