Advantages & Features
- Dual breaking rating — 6 kA to IEC 60898-1 (residential/commercial) and 10 kA to IEC 60947-2 (industrial), covering both distribution and industrial panels.
- C-curve tripping — 5–10 In magnetic trip suits general-purpose loads with moderate inrush (lighting, sockets, control circuits, small motors), avoiding nuisance trips while still clearing faults fast.
- VisiSafe — integrated terminal shutter and visible load-side isolation improve safety during wiring and maintenance.
- Visitrip — clear trip indication identifies the faulty outgoing circuit at a glance, reducing fault-finding time.
- Modular Acti9 ecosystem — plug in auxiliary contacts, OF/SD, shunt trips and Vigi RCBO attachments on the side, no tools needed.
- Compact 18 mm width — one module per pole maximizes circuits per panel.
- Industrial-grade isolation rating — certified as a disconnection device per IEC/EN 60947-2, suitable for service-entrance and isolation duties.
- RoHS-compliant, long service life — part of Schneider's flagship Acti9 line with global availability and long-term support.
Typical Applications
- Branch-circuit protection in commercial and industrial distribution boards
- Lighting, socket-outlet and small-power final circuits
- Control panels, PLC cabinets and automation system supply protection
- HVAC, pumps, fans and small motor branch circuits (with appropriate overload coordination)
- Hotel, office, hospital and retail building electrical distribution
- OEM machine builders and panel builders using Acti9 / Prisma E / Set enclosures
- DC auxiliary circuits where AC/DC-rated MCBs are required
Notes / Considerations
- 1P only — protects the line conductor; the neutral is not switched. For 1P+N or 2P protection, choose A9F74616 (1P+N) or A9F75216 (2P).
- C-curve is not for high-inrush motor circuits — for direct-on-line motors, use a D-curve MCB or a dedicated motor-protective circuit breaker (GV2/GV3).
- Verify available fault current at the panel does not exceed the applicable breaking rating (6 kA per IEC 60898-1 for typical building use).
- For earth-leakage / residual-current protection, add a Vigi iC60 or pair with an RCCB upstream — this MCB alone does not provide shock protection.
- Torque line/load conductors to the recommended value (≈ 2.5 Nm); do not exceed 25 mm² per terminal.
- Use only Schneider-approved Acti9 accessories; third-party add-ons may void the listing.
- Always de-energize upstream supply before working on the breaker; VisiSafe provides terminal protection but does not replace lockout/tagout.
- For DC circuits, confirm the DC voltage and pole arrangement against the datasheet — DC breaking is lower than AC and may require series-pole use.
