The Allen-Bradley 1734-EP24DC is a 24V DC expansion power module designed for the POINT I/O system. It serves two key functions:

Power Segmentation – Separates field power distribution between its left and right sides, allowing logical partitioning of I/O modules.
Backplane Power Extension – Supplies an additional 1.3A of 5V DC power to the POINTBus for modules on its right side, supporting up to 17 I/O modules without interrupting data communication.

Dual Power Services – Isolates field power segments and extends backplane power.
Wide Input Range – Accepts 10–28.8V DC input (nominal 24V DC) with 400mA max current.
High Surge Tolerance – Handles 6A surge current for 10ms, ensuring stable operation during power fluctuations.
Visual Diagnostics – Features green LEDs for field/system power status and red/green indicators for module health.
Industrial Durability – Operates in 0°C to 55°C environments with IP20 protection.
Compatibility – Works with POINT I/O adapters (e.g., 1734-AENT, 1734-ADN) but not with 1734-PDN interfaces.
