As an important component of the ABB Ability™ System 800xA control system ecosystem and part of the S800 I/O module series, it provides an efficient analog input solution for various industrial applications with its excellent performance, high reliability, and strong adaptability.

(I) Channels and Input Characteristics

  1. Number of Channels: The AI845 is equipped with 8 input channels, providing sufficient interface resources for connecting diverse analog signals in industrial sites. Signals from devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, and flow meters can all be processed in an organized manner.
  2. Input Types: It supports both analog voltage and analog current inputs, enabling flexible adaptation to different types of on-site sensors and transmitters. The voltage input range covers -10 V to +10 V, and the current input range includes common intervals such as 0 mA to 20 mA and 4 mA to 20 mA, meeting the requirements of most industrial scenarios.
  3. Input Impedance: For voltage input, the input resistance is greater than 10 MΩ, which effectively reduces signal loss and interference, ensuring high-precision acquisition of voltage signals. For current input, the input resistance is 250 Ω, which perfectly matches standard current-type sensors, guaranteeing accurate measurement of current signals.

(II) Signal Conversion Accuracy and Speed

  1. Resolution: It adopts a 16-bit high-precision AD converter, which can finely convert analog signals into digital signals, realizing accurate quantization of signals. This provides a more precise data foundation for the control system, helping to improve the accuracy and stability of the entire industrial process control.
  2. Sampling Rate: With a sampling rate of 100 Hz, it can quickly capture changes in analog signals, respond in real time to dynamic fluctuations of on-site parameters in industrial settings, and promptly transmit the latest data to the control system for rapid decision-making and adjustments.

(III) Electrical and Environmental Adaptability

  1. Operating Temperature: It can work stably within a wide temperature range of -20°C to +60°C, adapting to various complex working conditions from cold outdoor environments to high-temperature industrial workshops. There is no need to worry about temperature changes affecting the module's performance, reducing the risk of equipment failure caused by ambient temperature.
  2. Power Supply: It is powered by a PLC or DCS system, enabling seamless integration with existing control systems. This ensures a stable and reliable power supply while reducing the complexity and cost of additional power supply design.
