Product Overview

The ABB ZAF75-70 is a replacement coil module designed for ABB’s AF-series contactors (e.g. AF45 to AF75, and AF50N2 to AF75N3). It supports a wide control voltage range of 100 V to 250 V in either AC or DC mode.

Precautions & Notes for Use

1. Select the Correct Voltage Rating
   Although the coil supports 100–250 V, the control voltage in your system must fall within that range for reliable operation and to avoid over-stressing the coil.

2. Polarity & Wiring
   For DC usage especially, correct wiring and polarity are important. Wrong polarity may prevent proper functioning of the coil circuit.

3. Ambient Temperature & Heat Dissipation
   Avoid operating in extreme temperatures. The overall contactor (including coil) is typically rated for –40 °C to +70 °C (depending on the contactor model). If used under extreme conditions, ensure adequate heat dissipation or protection.

4. Avoid Frequent Switching
   While the coil is built for many operations, excessively frequent ON/OFF switching can accelerate wear, cause electromagnetic stress, and shorten its life.

5. Storage & Installation Precautions

   • Store in dry, dust-free, low-humidity conditions; avoid rapid temperature changes that cause condensation.

   • During installation/removal, handle gently to prevent mechanical shock, static damage, or deformation.

   • Ensure proper, secure wiring; avoid loose or poor contacts.

   • Before use, inspect for short circuits or leakage currents.
