ABB TU843 Redundant Modular Terminal Unit

  • Number of Channels: Features up to 16 I/O channels, with each channel having two I/O connections and one ZP connection.
  • Electrical Parameters: Maximum rated voltage is 50V, maximum rated current per channel is 3A, and maximum current for process connections is 10A.
  • Mechanical Dimensions: Measures 47x186x124mm.
  • Operating Temperature Range: -25°C to +70°C.
• Functional Features:
  • Redundant Design: As a redundant termination unit, it ensures that when the primary device fails, the standby device can take over seamlessly, guaranteeing system continuity and reliability.
  • Module Bus Allocation: Can allocate two module buses—one connected to the I/O module and the other to the next MTU (Modular Terminal Unit). It generates the correct address for the I/O module by transferring the output position signal to the next MTU.
  • Communication Interface: Equipped with a Modbus RTU communication interface, enabling seamless data exchange with other control devices and systems.
  • Mechanical Configuration: Adopts a mechanical key configuration, with 4 mechanical keys (2 per module) used to configure the MTU for different types of I/O modules. There are 36 different configurations in total, and the mechanical key configuration is only a mechanical-level setting that does not affect the functions of the MTU or I/O module.
