The ABB REM620 belongs to the Relion® 620 series and is an intelligent protection and control relay designed specifically for medium and large asynchronous or synchronous motors.
It provides comprehensive motor protection, measurement, control, and supervision functions in a single unit.
The device integrates current and voltage measurement, advanced motor protection algorithms, communication capabilities, and system diagnostics, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications requiring reliability and precision.
Supported protection functions:
Three-phase overcurrent, undervoltage, negative-sequence current, frequency supervision, stall protection, rotor earth fault, differential protection, and thermal overload protection.
Measurement accuracy:
For three-phase current measurement within 0.01–4.00 × In range, the accuracy is ±0.5% or ±0.002 × In.
Communication interfaces and protocols:
Supports Ethernet and serial ports with IEC 61850, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, and IEC 60870-5-104 communication protocols.
Input/output modules:
Supports analog inputs, RTD temperature sensors, and digital I/O expansion modules for external control or monitoring.

Protection element operation time less than 3 ms for critical trip functions.
